5 Reliable Twitter Users to Follow For Gaza Conflict

Ban Ki Moon is traveling to Cairo today to participate in an Egyptian lead ceasefire negotiations between Israel and Hamas.  The Secretary General called for an immediate ceasefire, and it looks like Israel and Hamas are entertaining the idea–even though their demands right now seem very far apart at the moment.

In the meantime, there is a great deal of obfuscation and pure confusion about what is happening on the ground at any given moment. Thankfully, there is also a cadre of independent international journalists from reputable news outlets in Gaza who are providing reliable information about the unfolding crisis.

Here is a list of some of the more useful Twitter accounts to follow for accounts on the ground in Gaza. It’s by no means exhaustive, but you can count on these five reporters to tell it straight.

1) Paul Danahar, BBC  @pdanahar

2) Arwa Damon,  CNN @ArwaCNN

3) Ben Wedeman, CNN @BenCNN

4) Ayman Mohyeldin , NBC News @AymanM

5) Derek Stoffel, CBC  @DerekStoffelCBC

Good list. But consider adding @sarahussein, reporter with Agence France-Presse, and Rania Zabaneh, @AJEnglish producer.
