Cold Winter Means Added Suffering for Syria’s Displaced (Video)

Winter has set in, which for the estimated 515,000 people made refugees in Syria means added hardship. A new video from UNICEF shows refugee families in Lebanon struggling to get by in the cold.

Earlier this month, the UN’s Office for Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs issued a new humanitarian appeal for nearly $1 billion to cover the humanitarian needs of people displaced by this conflict. This includes things like medicines, winter clothes, food and other basic necessities.  So far, it has received less than half that amount.  It is time for donors who profess to care about the plight to the Syrian people to step up.
