Is the Optimism about the ‘End of AIDS’ Warranted?

For World AIDS Day I caught up with Dr. Max Essex of the Harvard School of Public Health. Dr. Essex is a leasing AIDS researcher and we have a delightfully wonky conversation about the global fight against HIV/AIDS.

We kick off with a question that has been on my mind recently: most of the information I get about the global fight against HIV/AIDS comes from NGOs, advocacy groups and UN bodies that have an interest in projecting a sense of optimism about progress. So, does a hard headed academic like Dr. Essex agree? Watch and learn!
