Haiti has justifiably been taking up alot of energy and focus of the United Nations over the last two days. But it is worth noting that there has been a long scheduled meeting of entrepreneurs and investors concerned about climate change at the UN today. The United Nations Investors Summit on Climate Risk today will feature Al Gore, George Soros, AFL-CIO President Richard Trupka, and Ted Turner among others. The UN Foundation has played a lead role in organizing the meeting.* The idea here is to get stakeholders talking about ways to "to bring together leading institutional investors, state treasurers, and financial services firms worldwide to consider the scale and urgency of climate change risks and to analyze emerging investment strategies and opportunities."
