“President” Ban Ki Moon?

South Korea’s embattled president Park Geun-hye of South Korea said Tuesday that she was willing to resign before her term ends, in an effort to head off a pending impeachment vote over a devastating corruption scandal. Meanwhile, there is wide speculation that Ban Ki Moon, who is widely popular in South Korea may return home once his term expires on December 31 and run for president. He reportedly told Al Jazeera’s James Bays that on January 1 he “will return to Korea to discuss with community leaders and friends on how he can contribute to his country.”

Largest. Solar. Farm. Ever…Images have been released showing the sheer size of the new solar power plant in southern India. The facility in Kamuthi, Tamil Nadu, has a capacity of 648 MW and covers an area of 10sq km. This makes it the largest solar power plant at a single location, taking the title from the Topaz Solar Farm in California, which has a capacity of 550 MW. The solar plant, built in an impressive eight months, is cleaned every day by a robotic system, charged by its own solar panels. At full capacity, it is estimated to produce enough electricity to power about 150,000 homes. (Al Jazeera http://bit.ly/2fJlX21)
