World Malaria Day: Champions to End Malaria

Malaria doesn’t stand a chance against these three.

That’s Bishop Thomas J. Bickerton from the people of the United Methodist Church, entertainer and PSI Ambassador Mandy Moore, and Former NBA start Dikembe Mutombo.  These three, plus the director of the Roll Back Malaria Partnership Awa Marie Coll-Seck; the UN Foundation’s Elizabeth Gore; and Boy Scout and grassroots fundraiser Nate Stafford met this morning for the World Malaria Day launch of a PSA, which displayed on the big Toshiba screen in Times Square.

These are six of the 26 “Champions to End Malaria” whose photos from the acclaimed portrait artist Platon are going on display in the UN lobby today. If you are in New York, stop by the UN to check it out — the Champions to End Malaria Exhibit will be open to the public now through May 22.  If you can’t make it, visit our friends at Nothing But Nets to view the photos there.
