After the Philippines Typhoon, the “Cold Chain” is Back

This is a pretty amazing story about how a very pregnant woman in the Philippines ┬ásurvived the Typhoon. She gave birth just six days later. And now, thanks to UNICEF’s ability to restore the refrigeration units needed for vaccine storage and delivery (the so-called “cold chain”) her baby has the vaccines she needs to avoid preventable diseases like polio.
