This Amazingly Resiliant 13-Year-Old-Girl Escaped Violence in the Central African Republic

This is an impressive story captured by UNICEF.

Allison, 13, and her family fled their Central African Republic home after her uncle was brutally murdered in ethnic and religious violence over one year ago. Allison witnessed her uncle’s death and the memory haunts her dreams. Now living in the Grand Seminaire Saint-Marc displacement site, she wants the war to end and her life to return to normal. Allison attends a UNICEF-supported temporary school that she says helps keep her focus: “If I didn’t go to school, I’d be at home doing nothing.”
