Between UNGA Week events, the Social Good Summit and the Clinton Global Initiative we figured that we would have critical mass who would want to get together for some drinks and good discussion.
The schedule this morning includes, Ban Ki Moon, the President of Brazil, President Obama then the heads of state of Qatar, Mexico, Kazakhstan and France. That will probably take us to lunchtime.
As per tradition Brazil will kick off the events tomorrow with a speech from President Dilma Rousseff. Then, President Obama (in his role as the head of state of the host country) will take to the podium. Other notable speakers tomorrow include French President Nicolas Sarkozy and Afghan President Hamid Karzai.
At the Social Good Summit yesterday, USAID Administrator Raj Shah launched a new social media/open government campaign to encourage public engagement with the horn of Africa crisis. USAID is calling this USAID/FWD--with F W D standing for Famine, War, and Drought.
