By: Mark Leon Goldberg on March 15, 2012 UN Dispatch caught up with Assistant Secretary-General for Intergovernmental Support and Strategic Partnerships at UN Women Lakshmi Puri. We spoke after an International Women’s Day event hosted by the UN Foundation in Washington, DC. UN Women is the newest United Nations body. It is in its second year and was created out of four existing UN entities to better focus UN resources on gender equality and women’s issues. Much of our conversation focuses on the work of UN Women in its nascent stage. Have a listen and let me know what you think.
