By: Mark Leon Goldberg on December 17, 2012 From the World Food Program Syrian refugees and those displaced inside the country are hungry and cold, but so far the international community is not mounting an effective humanitarian response. The UN is asking donors for $488 million to shelter, feed, clothe, vaccinate, and otherwise care for the humanitarian needs of the over 500,000 Syrian refugees in neighboring countries and 1.2 million people displaced inside Syria. So far, they have received only about $250 million. We can do better.
