A 7.8 Magnitude earthquake has struck eastern south eastern Iran, not far from the border with Pakistan. The epicenter was 83KM east of the city of Khash, and Iranian government officials are reporting signifcant casulties.

Twitter is providing a stream of updated information. This was a very powerful earthquake in a region that is rather vulnerable to catastrophic natural disasters. Casualties could be very high
