Today’s map comes from Humanitarian Outcomes, which publishes the Aid Worker Security Database — a very important data set that keeps track of security incidents involving aid workers around the world.  On the interactive version of the heat map, when you scroll over each country you see the number of security incidents in which aid workers were victimized in some way. By far, the three most dangerous places in the world for aid workers are Afghanistan, Somalia and Sudan.

Here is the summary table of major security incidents involving aid workers.

Aid work can be dangerous. Many thanks to Humanitarian Outcomes for keep track on this all for the rest of us.
