By: Chris R Albon on September 30, 2011 Too often the work of the United Nations is reduced in the media to the Security Council (UNSC) and the General Assembly. However, in reality for every UNSC vote or General Assembly speech, there are thousands of programs, projects, and people working hard to make our pale blue dot better. The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) is one such effort. Everyday UNDP provides expertise and grants to help build local capacity in everything from democratic elections to environmental protection. It is easy to forget the sheer scale of the undertaking. So, in honor of them, and the fact that it is Friday afternoon, here is an amazing video from last year depicting a single day in the life of the UNDP. Enjoy.
