U.S. Global Engagement Gets A Grassroots Boost

Big news in the U.S. global engagement front: At a gala dinner in New York last night, it was announced that the UN Foundation is entering into a strategic alliance with the United Nations Association of the United States (UNA-USA).  You know the UN Foundation for, among other things, supporting this blog.  UNA-USA is a member-based organization that has been around nearly as long as the United Nations itself.  It is probably best known for organizing Model-UN’s, but its membership also organizes around UN and global issues.

From UNF:

The UN Foundation launches its strategic alliance with the UN Association of the USA during the annual UN Foundation/UNA-USA awards dinner on November 18, 2010 in New York, providing new momentum to strengthen and deepen American support for the UN. Working together, UNA-USA and the UN Foundation will increase public education and advocacy on the work of the UN

So, a big congratulations to my friends at UNF and UNA-USA.
