By: Mark Leon Goldberg on July 29, 2010 The International Federation of the Red Cross just posted this video about one woman’s day to day struggle to survive the food crisis in Niger. The World Food Program declared it an emergency operation in which millions of people risk starvation. So far, though, the international response has been weak. When you watch this video keep in mind that 500 CFR = about $1 USD. That means one cup of millet, not a very nutritious grain, costs her about $1.25. But that is just one cup and she has 10 mouths to feed.
